Event Info

After a muddy good time in 2018, we can’t wait to get down and dirty with you again next year! Keep posted – date release coming soon!

We changed things up a bit in 2018 – we’ve taken your feedback into account and made the event simpler and stress free!

Instead of having three courses to choose from as we have in the past, we have combined the favourite obstacles from all three courses and packed them into one awesome, action filled, family friendly, 5km+ course suitable for every family member. Getting down and dirty never felt so good – the 2018 course is guaranteed to showcase our best obstacles yet, and even more mud than ever before!

If you haven’t competed in a mud run or obstacle race before, then this is the course for you! We are all about fun, family, not taking yourself seriously, having a laugh, getting fit, getting muddy and achieving things you didn’t think were possible!

We’ve also reduced the cost of our registrations to make the event more family affordable and we’ve removed the burger and beer as an additional value add as we know not everyone wants one, instead they will be for sale in the Event Village on the day. We’ve also moved the parking to Bootleg Brewery (that’s right, no more buses)!

So what are you waiting for? Bring your mates, grab your family, put your dog on the lead or get training with your gym group and run the course twice. Whatever you choose, prepare to get down and dirty at the South West Mudfest –  THE MUD RUN FOR EVERYONE!

We know our four-legged pooches sometimes think they’re human too, so we have been working closely with the RSPCA WA to ensure no family member is left behind. Now you and your furry friend can be one of the first in Australia to take part in the Muddy Paws Challenge. That’s right, now you and your dog can dash through the dirt together – we are really excited to give man’s best friend a good time too! Taking place in the afternoon, there’s no chance of you or your pooch getting out clean through our specially designed dog friendly course! Please note, each registration covers the cost for one human and their accompanying dog to participate in the time wave of their choice.

This course is for all ages (we strongly recommend 9+ years for children) – we understand no one knows your child better than you, so we ask parents to please use their better judgement when registering their child and working out whether your child is ready for their first muddy obstacle race! Please note that all children 14 years and under must run the entire course with an accompanied registered guardian and all children from ages 15 to 18 must have a parent guardian waiver signed upon registration. Event management reserves the right to deny access onto the course, without a refund, if they believe a registered child is not old or fit enough to safely participate on this course. Please also keep in mind the fitness and agility of your dog when registering them for the Muddy Paws Challenge.

Time: 1:30pm - 2:30pm.

Expected time to finish: 1.5+ hours

Length: 5km+

Fitness Level: All

Age: We recommend 9+ years

DIRTY DOUBLE

Haven’t quite had your fix yet? We may no longer have our 12km Dirty Dozen course but if you’re after more of a challenge than our 5km+ course has to offer, we can give you a dirty discount to participate in the run twice. Here is your chance to truly test you agility, strength and stamina! See if you can finish the course quicker the second time around? When registering, simply select the Dirty Double registration and select two times that suit you best. We expect the 5km+ course will take you 1 to 1.5 hours to complete, depending on your fitness level, so make sure you leave yourself enough time between your two waves.

Time: 9:00am – 1:00pm.

Expected time to finish: 1 to 1.5 hours per wave

Length: 5km+

Fitness Level: Fairly Fit

Age: We recommend 16+

Obstacles

We don’t want to give too much away, but our obstacles have a distinct South West flavour. Think tractor tyres, bird netting, dams, beer kegs and of course, MUD! With our unique South West location, we can confidently say we are the muddiest mud run around!

There will be obstacles of varying difficulties and sizes, made all the more fun by a good coat of glorious mud.

Expect 2018 favourites including Ramp It Up, Sniper in the Pines and Snakes Belly to be back in 2019 alongside a number of new exciting obstacles!

Expect the best of the best for family fun, without electric shocks!

Prizes

Are you in it to win it? We have some epic prizes up for grabs at the South West Mudfest!

Fastest Male and Fastest Female – Think you can slide and climb through that mud fast enough? For the 9am elite wave we will be awarding the Fastest Male & Female, so make sure you are the first to cross the finish line for your chance to win!

We are also awarding the Best Dresses for the day! So get in the spirit of the event and pull on some fancy dress to be in the running for a prize!

Wave Times

To avoid over-crowding on the course and to provide everyone with the best experience, participants will be divided into staggered starting waves.

Waves will start in 10 minute intervals to spread competitors across the course and prevent queues at obstacles.

When registering you will be asked to select your preferred start wave time. Waves are allocated on a first in best dressed basis. If you want to change your wave time, simply log back into your Active Ticketing account to change your registration.

Safety

We want to make sure everyone has a fun and safe time at the South West Mudfest.

Mud and obstacle racing is a challenging sport, so we ask you to please recognise this and note that you are responsible for your own health insurance, as well as your families.

To help ensure your safety, we will be joined by an Event First Aid Team who are all there to look after any troubles on the day. We will also have a vet on site in the afternoon to look after any four-legged family member who may be having too much fun in the mud.

In addition to all of the safety precautions we have in place, we ask you to please remember to exercise respect to other participants at all times.

Before entry and competing it is compulsory for everyone to carefully read the Event Policy & Terms and Conditions Here!
